1/31/2024 0 Comments Pdfpenpro keeps freezing on a macIt integrates perfectly within the macOS system (including a built-in PDF viewer), it has tons of features, works amazing with multiple PDFs and it also has a cloud storage feature to keep your documents in sync. It's clear that others are also experiencing a similar or identical issue on M1 chips.Īs much as we'd like to stick with PDFpenPro (and avoid Acrobat), I'm almost to the point of pulling the plug on PDFpenPro, a product that our company has relied on for years, and requesting a refund for licenses purchased after we originally reported this issue to Nitro. PDFPenPro has a simple user interface, making it easy to edit & mark up all elements within a PDF. It has now been almost three months since I reported (via this topic) to Nitro. I would appreciate a status update beyond "we are still investigating." It has been five months since I first reported this to Smile prior to acquisition by Nitro. Please advise as to how I should proceed.Įxcessive CPU utilization and slow/frozen PDF rendering is a recurring issue for us. The product is essentially unusable currently. I'd submitted a process sample to Smile at their request. I have tried a clean install of PDFpenPro without success. I have been experiencing consistent slow/unresponsive PDF rendering with concurrent high CPU utilization (nearly 100%) on an M1 MacBook Pro. It happens with any and all PDF files and even happens if I open the application without a file. When I click on the icon, and then click on Continue Using the Old Version, I get the error: To continue using an older version of PDFpenPro, you will need to download it. I had an open ticket with Smile for PDFpenPro 13.1 (Mac). The software freezes a few seconds after it opens. Like James above, I too have a license for PdfPen pro 12 and downloaded it from the link you inserted above and migrated it to applications.
